He basically says they're probably not hiring but a few other stores in the city are, and I guess they just pool all the resumes together or something? Anyways, yeah. It was cool. I really hope that pans out... Came home. Felt tired (from all the walking and being tired yesterday) and then started feeling downright gross. Firefox 3 [04 Jul 2008|11:33am] gruberman Work upgraded to Firefox 3 last night, and I'm feeling a little iffy about it. I generally use Safari at home so I haven't used FF 3 much yet. I do have it installed on my Mac, one of the release candidates I think, but I really only fire it up when a particular website is giving Safari troubles. A few problems I've noticed: it asks me if I want to make FF3 the default browser on my system, even though it is. I eventually just told it not to ask me anymore I have to enter the password for our internal wiki twice; for some reason it never accepts it the first time I type it Unhelpful pop-ups: Twitterfox doesn't seem to work anymore, even after uninstalling it and installing the latest one. I am prepared to blame the twitterfox developers for this one, however I don't like the way the autocomplete works when you are typing URLs in the navigation bar. In the new version, it never seems to get the site I want until I've type 8 or 9 letters. I liked the old back/forward/stop/home buttons better, but I bet this is easily changed back. On the bright side, rumour has it that the famous memory leaks in FF2 have been fixed! 2 comments|post comment

Off to do battle at EB (later)! (With Dana's help I now have a way of getting there that doesn't involve a walk to/from Polo Park. Haha! Because that was ridiculous.) Trying to figure out what to do afterwards. I mean, I could always use my transfer to hopefully come back home without having to pay two fares. That would be a good plan. But I sort of feel like chillin' at the Chapters there. Hm. I miss the KW Chapters, because the Starbucks was a good place to while away a day. Hm. Anyways. HAHA. I don't have a good icon for my mood right now (I don't even know what it is.) I need an icon overhaul. New icons. Today's Match-Up: Kirk vs She-Ra [03 Jul 2008|07:23am] whosdaboss vs Captain James Tiberius Kirk vs She-Ra Iconic Star Trek captain James T. Kirk continues on his inevitable path towards a showdown with other Sci Fi front-runner Wonder Woman, but today he must defeat the next best thing: She-ra, Princess of Power. Which one is moving on to Round Four? VOTE NOW! Winner: Captain James Tiberius Kirk (9 votes) over She-Ra (8 votes) A very, very close race does not bode well for the Captain next round, but depending on who he is pitted against, we will have to see. Regardless, Kirk moves on the the Fourth Round, and She-Ra is finally defeated at his hand. Featured commentary: Superpowers? Who cares! Do you know how many people with Superpowers Kirk took down? Tons. The (second) Pilot itself "Where No Man Has Gone Before" was about taking down someone superpowerred, and about a third of the remaining episodes followed suit. Another half of the episose involved women being helpless to resist his charms. Oh, and then there's the 3/4s of the episodes that involved Kirk being the most awesome person ever to have lived. The one remaining episode is "Spock's Brain." That one just sucked. (No, I have NOT just referred to nineteen twelvths of the episodes plus one, picture it more like a Venn diagram.
